CRAFT CLUBS

Knitting Club

We have a group of very able, friendly knitters who get together weekly on a Thursday morning after Mass at Holy Name to share patterns and knit together.

At Easter they produced some great chicks hatching a creme egg which sold for charity; similar themes follow at Christmas.  They have also knitted squares for blankets to be made for refugees in the past.  Whatever the need and cause, they come up trumps!  They have a supply of baby blankets, cushion covers, scarves, hats .... all sold to support a charity.

All knitters are welcome to join.

Sew 'n So's

Come along to Our Lady of Lourdes on a Friday at 11am til 1pm to our team of creative sewers.  We developed from the group of stitchers who were involved with the Fabric Wall Hanging that is in The Blessed Sacrament Chapel at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

When the project was completed a number of folk said that they would miss being able to gather, sew and support each other as well as building community. Thus the new name but much of the same ideals.

All are welcome and you do not have to sew – you can knit, crochet, tatt or other crafts that you are interested in. We have some who come to ‘finish’ a piece of work started by their mother long, long ago. We have helped with a handmade crochet that needs adjusting.

So anything that you would like to work on but may have got stuck with we will be able to find a suitable outcome. There is a wealth of knowledge and lots of practical suggestions within the group!
